"The Shattered Sigil"--A Tale of the Medieval Magick Faire

Scroll I — The Invitation

Long before merchants and mystics gathered for the Medieval Magick Faire, a powerful sigil was placed at the center of the grounds.

The sigil was not decoration.

It was protection.

Forged by the guilds of the realm, the symbol was meant to keep balance between the many forms of magick that would gather there. Diviners, herbalists, alchemists, and keepers of ancient knowledge all trusted the sigil to hold the energies of the Faire in harmony.

But magick, like any power, must be respected.

And on the eve of the Faire, something went terribly wrong.

The sigil has shattered.

No one yet knows how.

Or who is responsible.

Scroll II — The Night Before

Those who guard the magick of the Faire are known as the Six Guild Keepers.

Each watches over a different form of knowledge and power.

The Seer studies visions of what may come.

The Alchemist works with fire, glass, and strange mixtures.

The Knight protects the grounds and those who gather there.

The Herbalist tends the ancient plants used for healing and ritual.

The Archivist preserves the scrolls and histories of the realm.

And the Crystal Keeper maintains the stones used in the Faire’s magickal workings.

These six guilds have long worked together to protect the balance of the Faire.

Which is why the breaking of the sigil is so troubling.

Because whoever is responsible… must be among them.

Scroll III — Rumors Among the Guilds

By morning, whispers had spread across the market.

Some believe the sigil shattered from too much power gathered in one place.

Others suspect that an artifact, potion, or ritual may have gone wrong.

A few even claim they heard a crack echo across the grounds just as the bells of dawn began to ring.

But the strangest rumor of all?

Each guild keeper remembers the moment differently.

Scroll IV — The Mystery Deepens

The fragments of the sigil have now been recovered.

The damage was not caused by age or weather.

Something happened that night.

Something involving one of the six guilds.

The Seer insists the truth can be discovered through careful observation.

The Archivist believes the answers lie within the accounts of each witness.

The Knight has ordered that all who attend the Faire keep watch for unusual signs.

Because until the mystery is solved, the balance of magick at the Faire remains uncertain.

Scroll V — The Call to Investigators

When the gates of the Medieval Magick Faire open, visitors will have a chance to uncover the truth.

Six guild keepers hold pieces of the story.

Six clues remain hidden among the vendors.

Those brave enough to seek the truth must gather the clues and determine:

Who shattered the sigil.

What tool was used.

Where the event took place.

Only those who solve the mystery will restore balance to the Faire.

HOW TO PLAY

Step 1 — Find the Guild Keepers

Six participating vendors have been chosen as Guild Keepers.

You will know you have found a Guild Keeper when you see their Guild Symbol displayed at their booth.

Step 2 — Prove You Are an Investigator

Before a Guild Keeper will share their knowledge, you must first prove that you are part of the investigation.

Approach the Guild Keeper and give your answer to the official riddle:

The correct answer becomes your secret password.

If your answer is correct, the Guild Keeper will know you are a true Investigator of the Faire and will share their piece of the mystery.

Step 3 — Collect the Guilds’ Knowledge

Each Guild Keeper holds one clue connected to the shattering of the sigil.

These clues will help you determine:

Who shattered the sigil

What tool was used

Where the event took place

Use each clue to cross off suspects, tools, and locations on your Investigator Scroll.

Step 4 — Solve the Mystery

Once you have gathered all 6 clues, review your scroll carefully.

When only one suspect, one tool, and one location remain, you will have uncovered the truth behind The Shattered Sigil.

Step 5 — Submit Your Answer Below

Submit the form below by April 18, 2026 at 6:00pm EST.

Those who solve the mystery successfully will be entered into a drawing for:
